ART
Just 5 kilometers outside Oudtshoorn, on a less frequently travelled road you will come across the Jamstreet farm where the MOOOI gallery is situated. Transforming an abandoned dairy into a destination gallery takes guts, creativity and bravery. MOOOI is the brainchild of owners Danie du Plessis and Wim Rheeder. On display in the gallery are paintings and sculptures by local, national and even international artists. Where the cows once stood to be milked there are now beautiful sculptures. Adjacent to the gallery is a hip gift shop and they have just added a boutique coffee shop. The MOOOI rock-shandy is the talk of the town not to mention the delicious cakes they serve. The farm also offers luxury self-catering accommodation and has the first labyrinth in South Africa built with empty wine bottles.

CHEESE
Tantinki is the market leader in South Africa when it comes to goat milk cheese, yoghurt, ice cream, fudge and other related products. They make a variety of 13 different cheeses in 17 flavours. On their farm 130 Swiss Saanen goats ensure that you only get the best milk possible. A farm stall was recently opened in Oudtshoorn where all the milk is processed. Sonja Ferreira is the driving force behind this unique family business.

CHOCOLATE
Inspired by the decadent 18th century French period, la chocolaterie ROCOCO defines the ultimate in chocolate indulgence. Handcrafted from finely selected ingredients, it’s a sinful delight that brings heaven one step closer. Marita Lamprecht’s passion to work with chocolate was the drive to establish Rococo. She received intensive training in Belgium to become a chocolatier. Traditional Belgian chocolates and the challenge to satisfy a chocolate lover’s palette inspires Marita to create heavenly combinations not to be found elsewhere. She only uses the best ingredients and no preservatives which ensures that the final product arrives fresh from her chocolaterie. Rococo targets the hospitality industry but products are also available from Marita’s chocolaterie in Oudtshoorn.

LIQUEUR
Just outside Oudtshoorn lie the vineyards of Sandkoppies, home of Grundheim Wines, established in 1858. Five generations have been farming here for more than a century. The farm uses a historic wine cellar, more than 100 years old. Grundheim is famous for its fermentation process in open tanks. Everything still gets personal attention - from bottling to labeling. Grundheim is famous for its witblits made in a traditional brandy still. The label shows a bull terrier - equally witblits has a bite and grip. Grundheim produces unique products - muskadel, port, home made liqueurs and potstill brandy. The many awards salute the popular brand. You just cannot leave the Little Karoo without a product or two. Elana, Ena and Dys are the friendly hosts. Discover a treasure of taste at Grundheim.
